Making a Cedar Trellis Latice
Bob is working with Ryley to make cedar trellis panels. The cedar is rough on one side and dressed on the other. They are laminating two pieces of cedar together with an exterior epoxy glue. The epoxy is spread evenly over the entire surface of the wood. The lattice itself is also cedar. One inch by one-inch-square strips are cut first. Then the strips are taken to the radial arm saw to make a dado cut periodically along the strips. The outer frame of the trellis is assembled using lap joints at the four corners. The lattice is created by overlapping the one-by strips in a checkerboard fashion.
